Home Security Tools
The home is considered to be the man’s castle. It doesn’t matter if the place is small as long as you are able to rest from a busy day at the office.
Even if your home is nestled in a crime free community, you must always remain vigilant. This is because the house can still be burglarized even if the proper measures aren't taken.
One way to make the home secure is by investing in a security system. Unfortunately, this doesn’t make the place burglarproof as some might think because criminals are also able to outsmart the system and as a result still get in.
Those who have a lot of money can invest in a panic room where everyone in the house can hide until help arrives. Those that don’t will just have to meet the intruder head on by using some vital home security tools.
These tools are namely a telephone, a flashlight and a weapon. You can call 911 and give the necessary details and then hold the fort until help arrives. If there are other people who live in the home, everyone must be advised to stay inside and lock the doors until a sign has been given that it is safe to come out.
The suspect will be moving to each of the rooms and even break the door down to find something valuable. The homeowner can prevent this from happening by going down to catch the individual first before this happens the other way around.
With the flashlight in one hand and a bat or gun as a weapon, you should move slowly in the hopes of catching the burglar by surprise.
If the suspect puts up a fight, the homeowner is within the right of law to take on or kill the suspect. Even if the matter goes to court, any jury will be in favor of the person given that the act of breaking and entering was wrongful.
Should the burglar run off, giving a description to the police either visually or with the help of the surveillance system can help in apprehending the suspect. You can then press charges so this individual can be booked for breaking and entering.
The home security tools at ones disposable are very limited. It is best to have a few rather than none at all because your survival may depend on it.
